If minor defects and damage are detected on the product upon acceptance at the warehouse, we’ll create a markdown product variant. It can be sold on Ozon at a discount.
Minor defects include damage that does not affect the service life. For example, a crumpled package or slight scratches.
For the markdown product, a separate PDP, based on the regular one, will be created. The stock will be equal to one.
Markdown mechanics upon resale from warehouse
Markdown variants are created only for those products that are already at the warehouse.
If minor defects are detected on the product upon acceptance, we will:
- Make a markdown decision.
- Fill out the PDP of the markdown product specifying its condition and the reasons for the markdown, add photos of defects.
- Set the recommended discount on the product depending on its category and condition. You can change the discount.

Customers will see the regular and markdown product variants on the same PDP. First comes a photo of the regular product, followed by images of defects.
Discount on markdown product
The discount on markdown variants applies to the price of the regular products. If the product price increases or decreases, the discount will change accordingly.
Example
A fitness bracelet costs 2,000 rubles during the special offer. A 10% discount is applied to its markdown variant. The price of the markdown bracelet is 1,800 rubles. When the special offer ends, the bracelet price will increase to 2,200 rubles, and its markdown variant will become 1,980 rubles.
The recommended discount amount depends on the product category and condition.

The discount is provided by the seller. You can increase or decrease the discount by 25% of its current value as many times as you like.
Change the discount on the markdown product
To apply a discount on a product marked down at the Ozon warehouse:
- In Products → Product List in the On Sale via WHD column, click on the value in the product row.
- Click View Markdown Products: a list of markdown variants will appear.
- In the Discount column in the product row, click on the value.
- Specify the discount amount and click Save.
Customers see the regular and markdown product variants on the same PDP. On the PDP of the second one, you will find details on the condition and markdown reasons. First comes a main photo of the regular product, followed by images of defects.
Return terms for markdown products
The same rules apply to the return of markdown products as for the return of regular products.

About products on sale

In the product list: in Products → Product List in the On Sale via WHD column, click on the value in the product row. The number of markdown products is indicated in the Including Markdown row.

In analytics: in Analytics → Reports → Sales from Ozon Warehouse → Marked Down by Ozon click Download Report.
The report highlights columns with details:
- on regular products in yellow;
- on markdown items in blue.
The markdown product report will reflect:
- SKU;
- condition;
- reason for the markdown and details on defects;
- status and visibility on the website: if the product is on sale or not;
- stock at the Ozon warehouse;
- current price including discounts.
About products sold
In the sales report, markdown products are labeled as “Markdown Product.”
