Ozon regularly holds large-scale sales to attract more customers. We launch advertising campaigns on TV, billboards and in other channels. This is how we notify customers of upcoming sales:

  • Discounts of the week: during this period, we announce the upcoming sales start to increase the excitement and interest of customers.
  • Sale: we enhance our advertising activity and remind customers that the best deals are available.

From January 29 to February 3 inclusive, Discounts of the Week will take place. The main sale period will run from February 4 to February 25.

To join the sale, add products to one promotion or to all of them: “Elastic Boosting. Unlimited Period”, “Maximum boosting”, “Maximum Boosting: deep discounts” or to other promotions from the sales calendar in the Prices and promotions → Ozon promotions section.

How we promote products in different types of sales

*We show the counter if the stock of promotional pieces is below 5,000.

Discount amount

The discount amount depends on the product subcategory and the promotion mechanics. We calculate it from the median price of the product for the last 30 days. When calculating the median:

  • We exclude product prices from “I want a discount” and “Promo сodes” promotions.
  • If the product was in the “Elastic Boosting” promotion in the last 30 days, we base the discount on the latest promotional price. However, this discount is much smaller than one based on the regular price.

When calculating the median price, we take into account the product price index. We calculate the promotional price to give the product a favorable index so customers are more likely to order from you.

Products that don’t participate in any promotion are lower in search results and the catalog. It’s more difficult for customers to find them.

Products that can participate in promotions

You can participate in promotions with any products except for alcohol, electronic cigarettes, and smoking supplies.

Products prohibited for sale

Track the participation effect

You can track the participation effect in your account in the Analytics section:

  • For customers: only for Premium sellers. Details on their gender, location, and age.
  • For promotions: we align their graph with the sales graph for easier tracking of the participation results.
  • For the positions of competitors in your categories: only for Premium sellers.
  • For the sales graph: it most clearly demonstrates sales growth.

Price check

If the product discount doesn’t meet the promotion terms, on the Participating now tab we highlight it in red. To add the product to the promotion, set its price to the recommended value in the “Promotional price” column.

If you don’t adjust the price, we can stop promoting the product. We send you an email and a notification in your account beforehand. After that you have 3 business days to change the price to the recommended one.

FAQ

If the products have recently participated in other promotions, how to calculate the minimum discount for this one?

Ozon calculates the discount based on the median product price for the last 30 days. Seller promo codes aren’t taken into account.

How is the discount calculated and displayed on the promotion page in my account?

You can check the product discount required to participate in the promotion in the Prices and promotions → Ozon promotions section.
