"Original" Badge

The “Original” badge appears on products with verified brand documents. It’s displayed:

On the PDP

Products with the “Original” badge:

  • may inspire more trust in customers as the badge indicates that the product is original;
  • are displayed in the search results under the “Original product” filter.

You can:

  • Enable the badge to attract customers. For example, during promotions, sales, or when a new shipment of products arrives.
  • Disable the badge if you don’t need extra attention. For example, when the demand is already high or the brand is recognized.

For some popular brands that are often counterfeited, we place a badge on all brand products without additional charge.

Enable service

You can enable the service if:

  • the brand documents are approved and up-to-date;
  • your balance is positive at the time of connection.
Only employees with the “Managing director”, “Administrator”, and “Product Manager” roles can manage the service.

  1. In the Products → Brand documents section, click Add documents.

  2. Specify:

    • Brand.
    • Type of the supporting document.
    • Trademark Registration Certificate number. You can find information about the trademark in open sources, for example, in Rospatent or WIPO Madrid.
    • Brief description. You can specify an explanation for the document.
    • Issue and expiration dates of the supporting document.

    Click Continue.

  3. Upload documents not exceeding 10 MB each and click Continue.

Add all brand documents to one request. You can create one request per brand.
  1. Select Activate the service. If your balance is negative, a warning is displayed.

  2. Click Complete.

Once the documents are verified, the “Original” badge appears on your products. You can check the service connection in the Products → Brand documents section.

Service cost

We consider the service provided if at least one brand product was on sale within 24 hours, even if on the same day:

  • you disabled the service;
  • the products were out of stock at the warehouse or hidden from sale;
  • we disabled the service unilaterally due to a violation of intellectual property rights.

We charge the service fee at the end of the day.

Disable service

You can manage the service only if you enable it on a paid basis.
  1. In the Products → Brand documents section, in the Original Badge service column, click Enabled.
  2. Select Do not activate and click Save.

Ozon may suspend or disable the “Original” badge service unilaterally if:

  • we suspect that the product is fake: if we aren’t sure of its originality, we can’t show it to customers;
  • there are suspicions of intellectual property rights infringement;
  • the validity period of the documents has expired or they were rejected upon re-verification;
  • the funds for payment are insufficient in the account for 3 days in a row.
To activate the service again, edit the document with the “Rejected” status and submit a new package of documents to confirm the product origin. If the uploaded documents pass verification and we have no doubt about products originality, the “Original” badge appears on your product again.

Questions and answers

Can the “Original” badge be added to products from the Perfumery category?

In the Perfumery category, only full-size fragrances with their origin confirmed by brand documents receive a badge. Perfume decants can’t be considered original products as the brand doesn’t release them.

If after enabling the service we find out that you’re selling perfume decants under this brand, the brand documents get rejected and the service gets disabled.

How do the “Brand Promotion” and “Original” badge services complement each other?

These are two independent services. You decide which one to enable and whether to combine them.

Brand promotion includes:

  • display of the brand name next to the image on the PDP, in search results, and catalog;
  • brand logo in search results for clothing, shoes, accessories, and jewelry;
  • logo in the brand filter;
  • placement of products on the “Popular brands” shelf.

The “Original” badge includes:

  • badge display with the “Original” inscription on the PDP, in search results, and catalog;
  • search for a product by the “Original product” filter.
